Thoughtful, heartfelt and comprehensive, Saying Goodbye to Your Dear Dog raises questions that I never thought I would or should have. With its questionnaires, poignant personal stories and beautiful pictures/illustrations, this book lovingly guides you through a difficult decision. Reading about Kali’s story will no doubt help other Dog parents. I’m grateful to have this resource available.

This book is such a warm, thoughtful and supportive guide during a time no dog owner really wants to face, but eventually must. The book offers sound, practical advice on how to help you and your beloved dog. In addition to being an extremely valuable guidebook, the book features several heartfelt tales from other dog owners that have gone through similar situations. These stories give this book a warmth that most guidebooks lack …and a feeling that “you are not alone.”

Goodbye Dear Dog is a resource I wish we’d had when our dogs were facing congestive heart failure and cancer. It’s a tender, supportive book full of useful information, practical tools, excellent questions, and stories from other dog parents who have been through the painful process of saying goodbye to their dogs, too. It will help guide you through making your own very difficult decision about when and if to euthanize. You’ll feel like someone’s wrapping their arms around you and helping you along.

I wish this book was around years ago when we faced paralyzingly challenging end-of-life decisions about our beloved pet. Saying Goodbye to Your Dear Dog is full of practical, hands-on worksheets, yet is about more than just making decisions. The personal and touching stories are relatable and provide guidance and reassurance to you as a pet owner as you navigate big emotions. I love the mantra they repeat, “When I listen to my heart, I do good things.” That is so true and applicable for all aspects of life.
