Noticing emotional and personality changes in our Dear Dog
Kali, age 16
As our Dear Dogs age, their personalities can change (just like we humans, right?). When changes are abrupt or radical, we’re more likely to notice them. But if our dog’s changes are gradual or subtle, we may adapt to the changes as they happen and not even notice them.
One of the guide sheets we developed for our book covers this in detail. We’ve made it publicly available here on our website because it’s an important tool for recognizing important emotional and personality changes. By understanding how our dog’s personality may have changed, we can better determine if we’re nearing (or past) the time to say goodbye.
